Following Arsenal's 4-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday night, the English Premier League has begun inquiry into a claim brought forward by the affected team.
In an allegation that was also confirmed by Mikel Arteta, there were racist remarks directed at the Arsenal bench by yet-to-be-identified Leeds supporters during the first half of the encounter.
It is believed that members of the Gunners bench called out to the fourth official to make a report of the incident when it happened and the authorities have swung into action in fishing out the culprits.
If investigations find them guilty, they will surely be hit with strict sanctions as the footballing world has got zero tolerance for racism, this they have kept ringing into our ears.
Arteta's men further increased their chances of remaining in the top four with that 4-1 triumph over the hosts. Gabriel Martinelli continued to impress with his brace in the first half.
Bukayo Saka also put his name on the scoresheet prior to the break before Arsenal conceded one in the next period. Emile Smith Rowe made it four after coming on as a substitute.
