Arsenal have sacked Unai Emery after just eighteen months in charge at the club.
The official announcement was made on Friday morning, few hours after our 2-1 Europa League loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Freddie Ljungberg will take over as interim head coach while the search for a new manager continues. Emery's assistant will be assisted by Arsenal Academy coach, Per Mertesacker.
The move to part ways with the head coach who arrived to fill Arsene Wenger's void in May 2018 became necessary following a poor run of results from the Gunners.
November is known to normally be an ugly month for us but it was to the extreme this time and it was vivid that the Spaniard was not doing something right.
The situation went from bad to worse with the North London side drawing too many games and carelessly losing some, even against bottom-table teams that we should easily get points off.
It was obvious that the former PSG boss had lost it. The supporters, players and ex-players were fed up with his system and at the appropriate time, after seven games without a win, the worst run since 1992, the needful was done.
Ljungberg and Mertesacker will be in charge when we take on Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Arsenal currently sit far below the top four spot and i trust Freddie to reignite the squad for better.
