Youngsters Shine in Europa League Opener

Arsenal could be on their way to another Europa League final going by the result from today's encounter.

The tie which was their first in this season's edition of the competition was an avenue for some of the side's youngsters to earn playtime and good enough, they didn't disappoint.

Eintracht Frankfurt had not tasted home defeat in the Europa League in more than ten years until tonight when efforts from Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put an end to that streak.

Prior to taking the lead, both sides had some fair chances. We would have gotten an opener earlier if not for Lucas Torreira's misfired volley from a Saka pass.

Willock also missed but did well to send one in when he was fed by his fellow Hale End product, Saka. His deflected shot found its way into the opposition net and the score stayed at 0-1 by the end of the first period.

The second half came and Saka was at it again. The 18-year-old curled in from outside the box to earn his first senior goal. Good work from Granit Xhaka and Nicolas Pepe helped him achieve this.

To seal off the day, Saka assisted Aubameyang to make it 3-0. First game, first win, three points, a clean sheet and top of Group F.

Standard Liege, our next UEL opponents, recorded a 2-0 win over Vitoria.

This win should be a catalyst for us as we go into our next game which will be in the Premier League against Aston Villa this Sunday.
