David Luiz Completes Arsenal Move, Iwobi Joins Everton

Arsenal have completed what I feel is their last incoming transfer for the window that just closed today. If any other announcement follows, that will mean that they pulled through a deal we didn't know of.

David Luiz is the Gunners' latest acquisition. He joined us in a permanent deal from Chelsea for a fee said to be about £8m.

If many of us have been asked some weeks back to name some players who could make it to our club during the window, virtually no one would have thought of Luiz.

The reason is that the Brazilian wasn't in the news not until yesterday when we were told he was trying to force a move out of Stamford Bridge after his relationship with Frank Lampard went sour this week.

Arsenal needed to sign a centre-back and the search became more tense when Laurent Koscielny and Carl Jenkinson left for Bordeaux and Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

We were looking at Leipzig's Upamecano though at the end of the day, no deal was struck probably due to the high amount requested by his employers. They wanted £90m and as such rejected a £60m bid reportedly tabled by Arsenal.

That brought David Luiz into the picture. He wanted Arsenal, Arsenal wanted him, so they went on to deal. He has now completed his move. Halleluyah!

He might not he the type we need considering his age and attacking nature but I bet you he has his good side. We look forward to seeing him play for us.

Luiz will be wearing the number 23 shirt dropped by Danny Welbeck who has headed to Watford.

In another shocking news, Alex Iwobi, the Nigerian Messi, has moved to Everton for £40m. Just like the Luiz deal, we never expected it. It came so late.

Many are lamenting his sale but aside the favourable price, the switch will be of massive advantage to him. Remaining at Arsenal will mean lesser playtime which will eventually make him depreciate in quality.

He needs to move on and boost his development. At the Merseyside, he can feature so often and also play in his rightful place. I hope you are aware he doesn't play at his natural position at Arsenal.
