Arsenal have expressed disappointment in one of their employees after unruly behaviour from him. What occurred is something that hardly happens at the club.
The Gunners left the United Kingdom on Thursday morning but Laurent Koscielny was not a part of the side that board the plane heading to the United States of America for their preseason tour.
As for the likes of Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Elneny, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, their absence had to do with their participation with their various nations but many were shocked not to see Koscielny around.
It was not so long before the reason got unveiled. The Frenchman rebelled by refusing to join the rest of his teammates. He has also been refusing to train prior to this.
All these is as a result of his desire to force a transfer out of the Emirates Stadium to sign for one of the three Ligue 1 clubs interested in him.
Arsenal have since declined his request and the 33-year-old captain approached an unprofessional path by exempting himself from club activities.
Supporters have dishes out criticism for his actions, so as Arsenal via their official website.
The statement did not give too much detail but it is clear from the writeup that it was a case of mutiny.
'We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions', the update read.
'We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time.'
According to the Mirror, Koscielny will have to train with the U23 side while the big boys are away.
Other sources claim that the centre-back will lose his two-week wage as punishment for disrespecting authority.
Arsenal will play Colorado Rapids in a friendly match on July 16 before facing Bayern Munich, Fiorentina and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup on July 18, 20 and 24 respectively.
