Leonardo Augusto dos Santos, the teammate of an Arsenal-bound player has sent out a farewell message to him ahead of his transfer to the Emirates.
Back in March, we were told of how Gabriel Martinelli agreed verbal terms with the Gunners with paperwork being the only hindrance on the way to the completion of the move.
The 18-year-old, as the speculations spread like wildfire did something that looked like a confirmation of his impending move to North London. He followed Arsenal on Instagram.
Now, the Brazilian's colleague has added to our hopes with a message he sent out to Martinelli to wish him all the best in his endeavours.
Leonardo shared the picture below with a caption which when translated to English means: “Safe trip. God bless you, just progress for your life. We’ll be out there soon, God willing.”
It is still unknown when Arsenal will make an official announcement on the youngster's transfer. That could be sometimes next month when the kits for the new season must have been launched.
At his age, Martinelli is not expected to break into the first team immediately. However, we could see a similar situation like that of Matteo Guendouzi whose excellent display in preseason and the first few games of last season earned him s slot with the senior side.
