Wojciech Szczesny has hit out at a former teammate he feels is arrogant - several Arsenal fans will agree with his assessment of the said guy.
Robin van Persie left the Emirates Stadium for Manchester United in 2012. That move brought grief to the hearts of the fans.
With just twelve months left on his contract and his refusal to extend his deal, Arsenal had no other choice but to sell him out lest he leaves on a free transfer shortly after.
The prolific Dutchman went on to win the Premier League under Alex Ferguson after which his career has been a less rosy one.
Just like club supporters slammed the 35-year-old for leaving at a time when his services were highly required, Szczesny who played with him for two years has also condemned his ex-captain.
He said: “You have to admit, he left for Manchester United and the following year won a title.
“However, after that he got benched, moved to Turkey and his big career ended.
“He could have made other decisions and achieved lots more at Arsenal. He’s extremely arrogant – sometimes.”
Van Persie played under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal following Fergie's retirement in 2013. In 2015, he joined Fenerbahce where he spent three seasons then headed to his childhood club, Feyenoord - his current club.
Szczesny left Arsenal for a two-year loan deal at roma prior to his permanent switch to Juventus. He has been an integral figure in the team since replacing Gianluigi Buffon.
The Polish helped his team secure qualification to the quarter-final of the Champions League despite suffering a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Atletico Madrid in the first leg.
They were handed Ajax in the draw that held in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday afternoon.
