Lee Dixon has revealed a piece of information leaked to him by one of the insiders at Arsenal regarding Unai Emery's approach.
The Arsenal legend still has strong links with the North London club despite having ended his 14-year reign there in 2002.
According to the right-back, there has been a drastic change in the training pattern. The players are now made to undergo rigorous tasks unlike in the days of Arsene Wenger which he believes was a change needed to be made by the Spaniard.
“The training intensity and the accountability in training with what is expected of them has gone up,” Dixon told Premier League Productions.
“I know that for a fact because I’ve still got a few people knocking around the training ground that I can ask how things are going.
“The little insider has kind of said training has completely changed in that respect, which I think’s a good thing.”
Emery has hit the ground running since his arrival back in May 2018. He has not gone all season without challenges but overall, he has proven to be a manager who will thrive with proper support.
With him, Arsenal have high hopes of returning to the Champions League after missing out of the last two editions.
They currently sit on fourth spot in the Premier League, a position that can be improved upon if they make use of their opportunities judiciously
There is also a chance for the Gunners to lay their hands on the Europa League trophy - a silverware the 47-year-old won on three consecutive occasions during his time at Sevilla.
Friday's draw handed them Napoli as their opponent in the quarter-finals which commence shortly after the international break.
