Arsenal began their Premier League season on August 12, Unai Emery’s first competitive game in charge since taking over from Arsene Wenger on May 23, and it wasn’t a good one for them as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against the current league holders at the Emirates Stadium.
It will be another big game for the Gunners this Saturday. They’ll be battling it out with Chelsea and Keown has predicted a loss for his former side with the justification that their opponents look more settled than they are despite the fact that they both made crucial changes to their squad during the just-concluded summer transfer window.
Speaking in a chat with the Daily Mail, the former Arsenal defender predicted a 1-0 win for the Yokohama Tyres shirt wearers.
If we are to go by the two teams’ results from their first games, it would be so easy to predict a winner. However, one cannot be so sure as we have to put a number of factors into consideration. While Chelsea recorded a 3-0 victory over Huddersfield, Arsenal were trashed by last season’s league winners who also beat Chelsea 2-0 to win the Community Shield two weeks ago.
From the above, we can see that Chelsea didn’t get a big test in their opening fixture while Arsenal did under a new manager for that matter. We will see how it plays out tomorrow when Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge in what will be a game in which they’ll hope to gain revival.
