Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club are working on a january transfer for one of their attacking midfielders.
According to the manager, Jon Toral might be sealing a loan deal with Rangers FC in the coming days.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Granada and now that he is no longer getting regular play,, another potential switch is already on the books.
Sky Sports understands that Rangers FC have already shown their interest. They have begun negotiations to have him on a short term.
“We work on it [Toral’s transfer] to see if it is possible, yes,” said Wenger, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
“Yes, because he has played games there [at Granada] but at the moment he doesn’t play and personally I think it would be a good transition for him,” the Frenchman added.
The Spaniard has managed just five league appearances at Granada this season and that includes an unused-substitute appearance against Real Madrid on Saturday.
Toral joined Arsenal from the Barcelona academy alongside Hector Bellerin in 2011 but has not yet made his senior team debut for the Gunners.
He has previously enjoyed loan spells at Brentford and Birmingham and Wenger is of the opinion that a move to Rangers will help in his development.
