Reports doing the rounds in the media are claiming that Arsene Wenger have made contact with Santi Cazorla's possible successor.
The Spanish international has been ruled out through a long term injury and being that he is ageing, Wenger has begun making plans for his departure.
The Frenchman has put a call through to Juventus forward Miralem Pjanic, according to a claim by The Sun.
The same source made it known that the Bosnian international showed immense interest after being reached by Wenger and is now looking to reach a verbal agreement.
Juventus are however unwilling to let Pjanic leave this January after losing their major target Axel Witsel to the big money spenders in China.
The Gunners are keen to begin with a bid of £28 million as they push to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window which has already kicked off.
Pjanic has impressed for Juventus this season, scoring six goals in his 18 appearances in all competitions.
