Arsenal once again grabbed another comeback to secure a spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup. It was Preston North End who almost ruined our day.
Callum Robinson put the hosts ahead in the 7th minute and Arsenal were under great pressure as they struggled to get their spark.
Aaron Ramsey's and Olivier Giroud's goals early in the second half and few minutes to the end of the match made the difference. It ended 2-1 in Arsenal's favour. Below are my ratings from the game.
Ospina 6.5: He was there to make a number of decisive saves but wasn't so composed for aerial balls.
Maitland-Niles 5: He hasn't had a lot of first team chances, so was a bit shaky at right back.
Mustafi 5: Wasn't the person we used to know him to be. A poor first half he had. There was a slight improvement towards the end of the match. Arsenal still haven't lost any games with him in defence.
Gabriel 5: His loose defending made us concede that early goal. We were lucky to have not conceded more from some of his actions. Also made a nasty tackle, earning a yellow card in the process.
Monreal 6: He was no doubt the best of the four defenders even though he attempted a poor tackle in the buildup to the opening goal. He made a clearance that should have cost us.
Ramsey 6: Sent a header towards the keeper in the first half before putting Arsenal on level terms through a nice strike shortly after the break.
Xhaka 6: Looked helpless in the first half as a result of the pressure in midfield. He stepped up when Arsenal recovered in the second half.
Oxlade-Chamberlain 5: Had a nightmare game. Was all over the pitch but couldn't make much impact.
Iwobi 5.5; Provided the assist for Ramsey's goal. However, he was more concerned with trying out tricks instead of making things simple.
Perez 6: His lovely back heel to Giroud earned us the winner. Â Just like many others, he wasn't really visible in the opening periods of the game.
Giroud 7.5: Scored Arsenal's winning goal two minutes to the end of the game.
Welbeck N/A: Played for just few minutes. Almost got a goal. It's good to see him back.
