According to Theo Walcott, the signing of Shkodran Mustafi has brought back something which has gone missing at Arsenal for years.
Mustafi joined the Gunners for £35 million in the summer and since his arrival, no game in which he featured has been lost.
The German international's absence in Arsenal's last two games against Everton and Manchester City was greatly felt as they suffered defeats on both occasions.
Arsenal have received public criticism for lacking physical strength in the past but Walcott feels the defender has brought that back.
“There is just something different about us this season — a different steel about us,” he said.
“We have got Shkodran Mustafi injured at the moment but Gabriel can come in, who is a very similar player, aggressive.
“Everyone is gelling well.
“There is a good bond in that dressing room right now — the best I’ve seen.”
Mustafi is currently out as a result of a hamstring injury which he sustained against Stoke City and wouldn't be back till next year.
