The injury to Alexis Sanchez may end up being more than what we all expected as the Arsenal forward has been advised to stay out of some games.
The Chilean international got injured while training with his national side and initially, it was reported that he is likely to only miss the game against Colombia. The game with Uruguay next Tuesday is right now a doubt for the former Barcelona man.
Sanchez did not travel with the rest of his teammates. He was taken straight from the clinic to the airport where he had to take his luggage off the plane and stay back for further treatment.
Doctors who performed an ultrasound on him stated that the severity of the fitness issue will be determined 24 hours later and by then we should know how long he will be out. They however revealed that it should be at least a two-week absence.
If he ends up missing both games, then he may as well not be available for our clashes against Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain.
We all know that Arsene Wenger would prefer to tread the safe path this time to avoid a repeat of what happened last season at a time when Sanvhez got injured after being risked in a game he should have stayed out of.
We hope that this will be a minor injury problem as earlier predicted as we cannot afford to lose our hitman at this point in the campaign.
