Unlike the last few seasons, Arsenal are now in a better position to progress to the latter phases of the Champions League, according to Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners have only played in the final once and have never won the competition but the boss feels things might be quite different this time as a result of the massive experience in his team.
“I think we have a better chance, yes,” he said.
“I was used to playing with my younger squads when you build a stadium because you don't have the resources. Now I have a team with more experienced players.
“The squad is between 24 and 30, basically. That's where you have a good combination of physical strength and experience.
“But we want to keep giving chances to young players and get the mixture right. I say that with Hector sitting next to me!”
The summer addition of Granit Xhaka, Skhodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez should give the team the ginger they need to make progress at the big stage.
