Arsenal have been dealt a heavy blow as their new summer signing has been refused a work permit.
Takuma Asano who recently joined the Gunners from Sanfrecce Hiroshima was unable to meet the international requirement which would have made him eligible to play in England, hence he has been denied a work permit.
The 21-year-old striker has played for the Japanese national team only five times, a tally which is not enough to make him play in the Premier League.
It is believed that the club is planning to forward an appeal but if that does not work out, he would have to be loaned out just like Carlos Vela, Ryo Miyaichi, Joel Campbell and the likes.
Even though fans are of the view that Asano is one for the future, this news would still be received by them as a big blow considering the fact that they do not have enough natural strikers to rely on.
