Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed his desire to see Jamie Vardy at Arsenal in the coming season.
Vardy was at his best in the just concluded campaign, scoring a total of 24 goals and helping Leicester City to a surprising first spot finish. He was also named the Football Writers Player of the Year
The outstanding performance of the English international is what has caught the attention of Wright who has openly but indirectly urged the Gunners to sign Vardy.
The former Arsenal striker took to his personal Twitter profile and wrote: "Sorry Leicester but I want Vardy at Arsenal."
This isn't a bad recommendation but I do not see Wenger going for such a player at this time. Getting the club to agree to sell him, convincing the player who already has a Champions League spot to leave Leicester and also agreeing to pay a huge amount to get his services are all obstacles anyone who wants Vardy will have to scale and I do not see the Arsenal hierarchy as people who are ready for the last option especially.
Anyway, we will have to wait to see if anything positive will come out of Wright's tweet. One cannot be too sure.
