Arsenal defender who has struggled to get playtime at the club has confirmed news linking him with a move away from the club. However, he is not in a rush to decide where to head to.
Mathieu Debuchy stated that he is weighing his options, with Aston Villa being one of his targets. In an interview, he revealed that he wants to do all he can to leave the Emirates Stadium. From what he said, it is clear that the Frenchman is already frustrated as a result of his continuous omission from games.
“Aston Villa are in great difficulty, and that’s why I’m taking time before making a decision,”he said.
“They’re a big English club, and I’m not ruling out the possibility. I have also talked to Remi Garde over the phone.
“Right now, I’m assessing my options. Whatever happens, I want to leave, even on loan. I can’t stay at Arsenal.”
