In line with reports from French journalist Philippe Auclair, Arsenal will most likely welcome new faces at the club by the time the winter transfers begin in January.
He stated that the Gunners have been in talks with a number of clubs as they aim to strengthen their squad and as far as he is concerned, it will be a big surprise if nothing spectacular happens in the area of recruitment next month.
‘There is a lot of talk around the club about recruiting players quite early in January to address the obvious holes in the squad that we can see week in week out,’ he said.
‘I would be amazed if there was not an effort from Arsenal to recruit in this particular department [defensive midfield] fairly swiftly.
‘As a matter of fact I can tell you that there are already discussions going on between the club and a few possible targets.
When asked about the chances Arsenal have in signing new players in January, Anclair said: ‘I would put them between 99% and 100%. That’s how confident I am,’
