English FA Set to Punish Costa, Gabriel, Others.

After Mike Dean's poor officiating ensured Chelsea striker, Diego Costa went unpunished during his side's game against Arsenal on Saturday, the Football Association has reviewed happenings and charged him accordingly.

The 26-year-old Spaniard slapped Laurent Koscielny in the face, an act which infuriated Gabriel Paulista. A series of confrontations between Costa and Gabriel led to the dismissal of the latter.

Costa has till 18:00 BST on Tuesday, 22nd September to give a response to the charge for the incident which they claimed wasn't seen by Mike Dean even when we all know he saw it. Ok, if he didn't, were the linesmen also blind?

"Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees," said an FA statement.

"Each referee panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence.

"For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision by the panel must be unanimous."

While Costa has been charged with violent conduct, Gabriel's is improper conduct. Gabriel was sent off after directing a kick at Costa.

The two clubs involved, Arsenal and Chelsea have both been charged by the FA too. According to the FA statement, they violated the FA Rule E20 which states that clubs should control their players.

Gabriel together with the two sides have until 18:00 BST on Thursday, 24th September to respond to their respective charges. Elsewhere, Santi Cazorla who was the second Arsenal player to be sent off in the Gunners' 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge has been warned against repeating such behaviour in future.

It is not so surprising to see the FA act as if Mike Dean had no fault in his proceedings over that game. Well, a petition is already on on change.org. Those signing the petition want the governing body to stop Dean from presiding over any Arsenal games in future since all indications have shown he is a big enemy of Arsenal. Him celebrating a Tottenham goal against the Gunners in 2012 shows how much he does not like Arsenal. There are many other evidences. Let us even wait and see if the FA will give Costa the appropriate punishment before talking about Dean being sanctioned.
