Arsenal are so close to striking a deal for their striker target who was earlier said to be on his way to AC Milan. The Serie A giants have pulled out of their chase which means Arsenal are now alone with no competitor.
This is according to the Express who reported that the Gunners are now back in their bid to sign Jackson Martinez as Milan have abandoned their interest. The Milan president revealed last week that the cash involved was too much and that they will not continue with the deal.
Arsene Wenger has been after the Porto star for a while and would be looking to bring him to Arsenal so that he can help make the club's dream of winning the Premier League after almost twelve years come to pass.
Last week, Martinez said that he is not ruling out a transfer away from Portugal. The Colombia international made comments about Arsenal, hoping they could make the right bid and secure his services.
Arsenal will have to activate the £24.3million release clause placed on the star. Once that is done, then every other thing would follow.
