Arsenal are reportedly planning a swap deal as they make attempts to bring in a striker this summer. The Gunners want to give out Laurent Koscielny and get Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, according to reports in the media.
The Spanish giants, recently sacked their manager, Carlo Ancelotti for failing to win anything for the side this season and his speculated replacement, Rafa Benitez is in need of a centre-back which has made him beam his searchlight on Koscielny.
It is no longer news that Arsenal have been long-term admirers of Benzema and since the Santiago Bernabeu outfit are aware of that, they want to use what they have to get what they want.
Wenger is desperate to strengthen his attacking options ahead of next season, where his side will look to compete for the Premier League title but it is quite illusory to think that he will allow his best defender leave at this time. This present Arsenal team has blended too well so taking one out will definitely displace the team.
I would not think twice before rejecting such a proposal if I were the manager. Anyway, I do not see this deal going through. I see it as one of those cock and bull stories we come by during the transfer period.
