Olivier Giroud Hits Back at Thierry Henry Over Recent Claims.

Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud has hit back at Thierry Henry for his recent criticism towards him.

Thierry Henry who is now a pundit with Sky Sports said that Olivier Giroud is not good enough for Arsenal. He then went on to state that Arsene Wenger will have to sign a better striker if the Gunners are to become a big threat in the title race beginning from next season.

In an interview with L'Equipe, the 28-year old hit at the Arsenal legend, saying he is only trying to be more biased after being labelled as 'dull' in his football analysis.

“I heard he was saying too many dull things,” said Giroud. “That was a bomb and it had its desired effect”.

Wenger also reacted to another of Henry's claim. Henry said Arsenal will have to sign up to four world-class players if they are to win the Premier League but the Frenchman responded by saying that his present team needs no great changes. Wenger went on to say that Henry is trying to be controversial because he is under pressure to do that. Afterall, that is what he is being paid for.

“I think he’s wrong,” the Gunners boss said. “He’s paid for that. We know all the system now of the modern media, especially on TV. I know how it works. They push you to be controversial because they give you a lot of money.

“I can accept an opinion but the comment on Giroud was a bit more wrong, especially because I heard the same thing being said about Nicolas Anelka, about Thierry Henry himself and about Robin van Persie. And they all became world-class players themselves.”

Despite being out for up to three months, Olivier Giroud still has 18 goals to his name so far this season. The only problem right now is that he has failed to find the back of the net in his last seven games which is the more reason why Wenger will have to go into the market and find him a competitor.
