Arsenal's pursuit of Southampton midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin has been re-ignited as the summer transfer window opening date draws near.
The Gunners had since last season wanted someone who could choke up their midfield and act as a strong cover for their defence so they made a move for the Southampton man who was at that time unavailable for a transfer. Luckily, Francis Coquelin returned and had been playing that role so well but despite having Coquelin, Arsenal still want to get the services of a strong holding-midfielder to enable them challenge their rivals for the title next season.

Arsene Wenger will now move for the French international who recently made it known that he wants to join a club that can guarantee him Champions League football as he is tired of watching his mates play on TV.
“I no longer want to be in front of my TV every Tuesday and Wednesday,” the box-to-box midfielder told the Mirror.
Southampton are aware of this fact and have put a £25 million price tag on him. According to Goal, Arsenal have made their intentions known to Southampton who will now open negotiations any time from now.
The defensive midfield position has been the weakness of Arsenal since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona and that is why they are making maximum efforts to get someone who is good at doing the job.
