Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has been named the Vitality Player of the Month of February. This is his first for the season.
The German international was in top form all through the month, scoring two and assisting three. This earned him over one-third of the total votes in the just concluded poll.
Ozil started up against Aston Villa by creating a majestic assist which enabled Olivier Giroud grab the opener for Arsenal. Also in that game, Ozil scored in the second half to make it 2-0. The match ended 5-0 in our favour.
The ex-Real Madrid star was also on target in the North-London derby which Arsenal lost 2-1. He went on to set up assists for Laurent Koscielny and Theo Walcott against Leicester City.
Olivier Giroud was behind him having netted a quadruple in that month. Third was Santi Cazorla who was the winner of the December and January editions of the award.
The award will be presented to Ozil by Mark Laba [one of the Arsenal fans who voted for the 26-year-old]. This will be done before the commencement of the Gunners' home game against Westham United at the Emirates Stadium.
It's a nice one from Mesut Ozil. Congratulations man! We are hoping to see more of this.
Our game against Queens Park Rangers last night finished well and it's good we snatched all three points from that match away at Loftus Road. Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal a 2-0 lead after a goaless first half before Austin replied with one for the hosts. At the end, it was 2-1 in our favour. That win is an irreplaceable birthday gift for me. Today, March 5 is my birthday!
