Double Wahala for Dead Body as Arsenal Make Double Signing.

In my absence from the bloggersphere, so many events had occurred and they include the trashing of Spain by the Netherlands, the great humiliation of Brazil who were the hosts of the 2014 FIFA World Cup by Germany, the winning of the world Cup by my boys; Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker. It would be a long list if I continue. Nevertheless, I will not stop here as there is something which I would be so crazy not to mention which is................. Read on!

In my last post, I published a news of players who will be moving out of the club and at the end, I said we should all expect a very busy summer transfer since those departures would definitely leave a void in the Arsenal squad. It did not take so long before I was proved right.

On July 20, 2014 the official website broke a news which caused lots of jubilation from their fans while non-fans were left to wonder if it was the same Wenger they had known for years who was behind the completion of such a signing. What I am talking about is the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. Yes, we are getting there. Haters beware.

Sanchez after putting in maestro performances for Chile at the just concluded World Cup tournament agreed to join the Emirates outfit for £35million.The length of his contract is unknown but we know for sure it is a long term deal. He scored 39 goals in 88 appearances for Barca and netted two in four appearances for the Chilean national team in Brazil.

The 25-year old midfielder said: "I'm so happy to be joining a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players and huge support around the world.

"I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League and Champions League."

It did not end there as we saw the club complete the signing of Mathieu Debuchy (£12million) from Newcastle last Thursday. The right-back was brought in as a replacement for Bacary Sagna who left Arsenal for Manchester City after refusing to pen down a fresh agreement.

Debuchy also featured in the World Cup where he helped France get to the quarter-finals after a 2-0 victory against Nigeria. According to Arsene, the Frenchman could be included in the squad to play at the Emirates Cup.

The 28-year old defender said: “I’m very proud to be joining a great club like Arsenal and to wear its colours, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the whole world. I’m looking forward to working with Arsène Wenger and to helping the team build on last season’s FA Cup success. Playing again in the Champions League is a big excitement for me and I will do my best to help Arsenal compete for trophies.”

This is a good step by our manager in his quest to take the club to greater heights. He made big deals so early this time. With this kind of attitude we can hope to see more recruits at Arsenal before the close of transfer activities.

On behalf of all Arsenal supporters and the club's management I say 'welcome' to Sanchez and Debuchy and wish them a happy and successful stay with us.
