The Arsenal winger broke the news of the arrival of his first child to the whole world on his official Facebook page on Thursday afternoon. His revelation confirmed the fact the baby was born in the early hours of the day.
His post read, 'So over the moon to announce the birth of our baby boy Finley born this morning. It's amazing to be mummy & daddy! Love him so much x'
The pacy winger got married to his childhood lover after both had dated for nine years. The wedding took place in June last year at Castello di Vincigliata, near Florence in Italy. They first met in 2004 at WestQuay shopping mall at a time when Walcott was still a youth player at Southampton while Mel was a schoolgirl and have been together eversince.
Walcott has been out of action for Arsenal since damaging a cruciate ligament in an FA Cup tie against Tottenham in January. The 25-year old England international is also expected to miss the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.
Not too long ago, Theo admitted he was sad when he learnt he won't make it to the World Cup but said the birth of his baby would make him put aside his worries. His absence from Roy Hodgson's side is a sort of blessing to him since he would have a lot of time to spend with his new baby. He is currently working towards full fitness to enable him begin the next campaign with the rest of his teammates.
Congratulations Theo and Melanie! I learnt Barcelona are already trying to sign Walcott's baby. Hahahaha.
